In-Situ / Ex-Situ Soil Blending


Chemical oxidants, reductants, bio-amendments, and stabilizers can be effectively delivered to soils using in-situ or ex-situ methods.  In-situ (in-place) soil blending utilizes conventional excavators with or without blending attachments or specialized auger driven equipment to mix oxidants and/or amendments directly into unsaturated and saturated soils. Ex-situ blending generally utilizes a modified pug mill or similar equipment for chemical treatment prior to returning soils to the excavation.  Ex-situ methods typically offer maximum contact over in-situ methods. Soil blending methods are “green-friendly” promoting recycling versus dig-n-haul and off-site landfilling.
